How long has LNK Motors been trading?

LNK has been trading for 3 years although Paul and I have actually been in the used motors trade for 10 years now, previously playing an instrumental part in building a dealership in Bolton!

• What did you do before starting the company?

With a combined experience of over 30 years within the motor, sales & marketing, banking and customer focused industries, here at LNK Motors LTD we feel we are ideally placed to focus on what each individual customer desires in the purchase of their perfect buy!

Paul has always worked in sales & marketing over a few different sectors ranging from dusters to double glazed windows, whilst Nicola spent 10 years in financial services with one of the high street banks as a customer advisor.

What’s a typical day for you?

No two days are ever the same at LNK! An average day can be selling a car, applying for finance, boots up ready for camera action for photos to advertise the vehicles! LNK Motors makes 100% sure all our vehicles leave with an independent MOT. We believe this gives our customers the confidence that their new vehicle has received a thorough check independent of ourselves. The vehicle will also receive a maintenance service of oil filter, oil, anti freeze and screen wash & health check if required or needed! Here at LNK Motors we are very particular about the stock we source. We BUY carefully - so that you, the customer are only offered the best vehicles for sale. We source all of our vehicles from main dealers, never from auction houses - this way we can guarantee the vehicles on our forecourt have clean history!

What would you say to someone thinking of starting their own business?

Looking back – aged just 31, I think we were pretty crazy to give up our jobs with security and prospects to start our own business.  However a decade later and I would not change a thing! We have enjoyed some highs and endured some lows along the way, separating a business partnership, flooding and fraud ????, but with over 500 positive reviews we have been recognised and awarded with success at many different business awards. There are many ups and downs to having your own business, you must be prepared to put more than 110% effort at all time. I would say to anyone thinking about it to GO for it!!

What is your biggest life achievement?

Living & Working with my husband!!!!!

No, our two beautiful daughters are most definitely our biggest life achievement - both different in personality, both kind, hard working, generous, talented young ladies x

Is there someone that you aspire to in business or on a personal level?

Its not really an inspiration but I do love the rags to riches story of JK Rowling and the whole Harry Potter mania. I love that all of her wealth and success has come purely from her imagination! The fact that there were many set backs and rejections and yet she did not give up, makes this a real tale of inspiration x

What’s on your bucket list?  (If you have one)

Nope not really a bucket list – No plans to mid life crisis into anything crazy. I do believe that life is better in flip flops so always have a holiday booked. I love counting down and having something to look forward to. I think special birthdays should always be celebrated so a big party planned for the end of the year for Paul turning 50 and Lauryn 18; getting older is a privilege so many are denied xx
