MOT Changes 1st August 2020
MOT back 1st August 2020.
Following the easing of the Coronavirus lockdown, the latest updates regarding the MOT inspections required to our vehicles have now been revised and updated.
When lockdown was announced, the government offered motorists a six month extension to the expiry of their MOT renewal between the 30th of March and the 31st of July. The new changes will apply to those vehicles that are due to receive an MOT inspection after 1st of August 2020.
Ministers have stressed that despite the extension, all vehicles must continue to be properly, maintained and kept in roadworthy condition ! Or drivers could face prosecution and a fine of up to £ 2500.
Road Minister Baroness Vere Said as people returned to our roads, it is vital that motorists are able to keep their vehicles safe.
That's why restrictions will be lifted from the 1st of August. MOT testing will again become a mandatory request.
MOT and service centres across the country are now reopened and I urge drivers who are due for their MOT inspection to book a test as soon as they can.
There will now be a backlog of vehicles that have been delayed in their inspections along with the mandatory inspections. So now is most definitely the time to make your MOT appointment with your local MOT station we can highly recommend Manchester MOT & Service Centre Moss Lane Whitefield M45 8FH 0161 796 5717
